I Just Tried My Best To Listen How much have health retreats changed since you started in the industry? I started working in health retreats in 1995 and really back then they were fat fasts. People came purely for weight loss. And it was very rigid, it was very, very basic. How has the focus for health retreats shifted? Whilst weight loss is definitely a part of the modern day retreat it’s not the major focus. The number one driver these days is really just people looking for rest, recovery; a sense of finding connection back to themselves; finding connection with what their purpose and meaning is in life. *This is an edited version of an extended interview.
