Cyber Accelerator Leadership training for future leaders For those who work or want to work in cyber security Cyber5050 is a collaborative partnership between FW, CyberCX, the Australian Women in Security Network, the Australian Services Union and the Canberra Institute of Technology. Our partner CyberCX is making their award-winning Cyber Fundamentals microcredential available to 300 women and gender diverse people between 2025 and 2027. All women and gender diverse people who complete the Cyber Fundamentals microcredential will automatically be invited to participate in our Cyber Accelerator program. How can I complete the Cyber Fundamentals microcredential? To participate in our 12-month Cyber Accelerator program you will need to complete the Cyber Fundamentals microcredential first. It is delivered by geographic region. Click the link below for an overview of dates for each region along with when applications open. Cyber Fundamentals microcredential training is delivered five days a week (Mon-Fri) over four weeks. Participants do not need previous cyber security training, knowledge or work experience. See dates What is the Cyber Accelerator program? Cyber Accelerator is a 12-month, self-paced online program that helps women and gender diverse people build confidence, leadership, and communication skills. It also offers networking opportunities tailored to participants working in male-dominated fields. The program offers all of the benefits of FW’s Emerging Leaders Program with additional elements appropriate to the cyber security workforce. All women and gender diverse people who complete the Cyber Fundamentals microcredential will automatically be invited to participate in the Cyber Accelerator program. FAQs How much does this training cost? Collapse The Cyber5050 initiatives - including Cyber Accelerator - are funded by the Australian Government. There are no costs for eligible participants. How long are the programs? Expand Cyber Accelerator is an online, self-paced program with frequent live opt-in sessions. Participants will spend approximately 50 hours across 12 months completing the program. It is designed for busy women and gender diverse people who need flexibility and participants can engage with the training at a time convenient for them. When can I apply? Expand To participate in Cyber Accelerator you must complete the Cyber Fundamentals microcredential, which is part of the overall Cyber5050 initiative. The microcredential is run by our partner CyberCX, and you can apply here. If accepted for the Cyber Fundamentals course, you will invited to participate in Cyber Accelerator. How many positions are there? Expand Between 2025 and 2027, there will be 300 positions available for women and gender diverse people in Cyber Accelerator. Am I eligible? Expand To be eligible for the Cyber Accelerator 12-month program, you must first enrol in the Cyber Fundamentals microcredential with our partner, CyberCX. You must also: Identify as female or gender diverse Be aged 18 years or above Be an Australian citizen Reside in Australia. Can I apply if I have no experience in cyber security? Expand Yes. The Cyber5050 program is designed to support women and gender diverse people at various stages of their careers, including those with no prior experience in cyber security. It is also designed to help bring culture change to the cyber security industry, which is why we invite men and gender diverse people to our workshop training as well. What happens if I can't complete the program? Expand As part of the application process, individuals are made aware of the time commitment required to participate in the Cyber5050 program. Those who have the capacity to complete the training are encouraged to apply. If a participant is offered a place in Cyber Accelerator and then becomes unable to complete the training, they must provide the Cyber5050 partnership as much notice as reasonably possible before withdrawing. Depending on the timing, there may be flexibility to enrol the participant in a later cohort (if the grant is not near conclusion).
