I’d sway to and fro on subjects that ranged from what to study at uni to whether or not a dog-eared copy of American Psycho on a guy’s nightstand constituted a red flag. I seemed to value the well-intentioned advice coming my way from friends and family – strangers even – more than my own gut feelings on topics or scenarios important to me. Now, over a decade later, I’ve honed my internal barometer exponentially, thank goodness. No accounting for me! American Psycho BEWARE! I can even listen to an incredibly earnest friend suggest that I see a psychic and accidentally get pregnant (not to the psychic but still…) and NOT take her seriously.
